THE INTERVIEW

Let me introduce such a lady Dawn Reese,
We met when I was asked by Adalyn Forman to judge a
Pageant for the Americas Darling Pageant just outside Disney main gate.
That was many years ago, that she placed me like a thorn between two roses
Dawn Reese and a Channel 2 news Reporter.
Now Dawn has her own TV and radio /show with the
Stars and major artist to give you the winning edge in
Showbiz.
Now in the mid 2005 and I want to share
This interview with all you readers.

Ger : Dawn How did you start out in pageants?

Dawn: I was a teenager in Pageants, I saw an ad in the news paper ( contestants needed ) , It was Ideal Miss and Miss National Teenager,
I won Ideal Miss and was first runner up in Miss Wisconsin National Teenager, I knew how to model from being a Baton Twirler and I always won the modeling competition at the Baton Contest, I won Miss South Shore Water Frolics & Miss Talent, in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Pageants gave me the opportunity to speak in public and that was my stepping stone for my own TV Show later in life.


Ger : What advice as a pageant Judge can you give me to give to other new contestants,

Dawn: Learn how to play the game, look the part, look your age, parents are spending to much money on dresses and to much make up kids grow up so fast let them be themselves don't rush them to grow up it goes by so darn fast

.GER What are the most important things you should look for in a contestant When You judge?

Dawn: Their Inner personality and sparkle and shine, and that they enjoy pageants, And what kind of role model will they be for other contestants after they win.

Ger- How did you start out in show biz?

Dawn: Wow To sum it all up I was born and having a Mother that was a Dance teacher, and we had our own dance school in the midwest in our basement. I taught baton at 12 Years old under my mothers school we had over 300 students and it was time to move to the rec dept to teach. I was in baton corps and I loved twirling, for parades and I was the solo golden girl for my middle school and high school, that gave me the edge into showbiz. I found my first agent in Milwaukee and from there found a good photographer and started booking jobs,

YOU ARE TO SHORT

I met a talent scout and He said I was to short to model , when I was 17 now if I took that to heart I would not be where I am now, I then moved on to find an agent in Chicago and took the Amtrak for jobs and auditions. From there moved To New Mexico and entered the Mrs. New Mexico Pageant and won Mrs. New Mexico and went on the Mrs. America Pageant in Las Vegas and I was one of the Youngest contestants .

From there, worked in Phx Az with one of the top agents and was an acting teacher,.Them I moved to California with my family, was a Lear jet flight attendant. I went back to college for Broadcasting and Journalism, won the best entertainment reporter in college for over three years. I met a Dear friend that called me to be the reporter for the Pre Grammy event, when Entertainment Tonight did not show up. I did all the interviews with the stars and won the hearts of the stars with major indepth interviews. I became good friends with Vonny Hilton Sweeny and for over four Years I was apart of this amazing Hollywood Pre Grammy Event. I was then asked to become James Brown's Hollywood Entertainment reporter for his Truth magazine. The famed god father of soul and singer,of the hit song
"I feel good".

From there, I found an office at Hollywood and Vine and then started managing in the talent business, and founded a production company and made partners with a photography company and we were off shooting my TV show from Hollywood CA to las Vegas, .

Ger- Who are the stars on your show and has anyone assisted you in your productions?

Dawn: Oh Gosh Sooo many I do want to thank Paul Murray one of my best friends, as I could not do this show with out him as he was my producer, Having Joe Jackson, to Robert Evans from Paramount Pictures to Michael Clark Dunkin of the Green Mile to Major Casting directors agents, and New Talent to help them get discovered You can view many of the Stars on my main website that you as my webmaster have hosted for me, www.DawnReeseshow.com

Ger- What advice can you give Parents,that have an up and coming lil star in there life?

Dawn: Learn the business, Take my advice when I work with you, Many Moms and Dads, think I am going to pay for their pictures or get there pictures printed, as manager, I have done the research and I know what I am doing, Follow my steps once you are with me , I do not promise what I can tell you many of my talent of all ages are working right now in TV Film & Print from Miami To Hollywood CA and with my own boys when they were Little that they booked many Jobs from Burger King to Print for Disney and so many others, I learned with my own Kids how to be a great manager, and its all connections
Ger- Who can you thank for your career in the business, and how did it all begin? First off,

Dawn : I have to say You : Gerry Ralston, When You first put me on camera for a parade and Opening of Planet Hollywood In Florida. When I was walking down the Red Carpet, with the head of the Florida Motion Picture Television Association (Craig Soldinger) , what a blessing you have been in my life, to give me the edge when you saw reporting in me. You are today the Worlds Best promoter to the Stars and Major Artist. Using your contacts with such people as the Worlds #1 promoter Pete Bennett ,coupled with your knowledge of the internet and your ablity to put things up in an instant notice, I'm glad to say you are my friend.

I also do want to thank Paul Murray again , As I would not have a show with out him The Producer & Photographer to the Stars and Major artist, saw My Skills in Hollywood CA and open doors for me that I will never forget.
Ger - What titles have you won and how did winning help you in your career?

Dawn: Let me count my sashes and crowns lol From Ideal Miss to Mrs New Mexico 1982 MS South West California Ms Coastal Beaches, MS SW Florida Miss South Shore Water Frolics & Talent winner Just a few I can remember Winning gave me the advantage to help other People, and It keeps the lady in you.

Ger- How many Pageants have you judged? when was your first one, and what was the first pageant?

Dawn: I have been a pageant judge for over 40 Years wow that is along time, Judging Local State National And International Pageants From Hollywood Ca to Vegas to The Bahamas My First pageant I was a Teen Queen, And was a Guest to Judge a local pageant, Remember it was at Americas Darling I met you at.

DO YOU STILL TEACH?
Ger -You teach acting for kids and teens, how did that begin and what type of places do you teach at?
Do you teach modelings Classes?

Dawn: Thank you Ger for asking as I enjoy teaching the Youth, I have had over 200 Students, and now I teach on my own, Kids being Kids on camera, 5-18 Years old, and I do teach modeling classes, and I am still teaching Pageant Training, For Babies Kids And Teens,, I have taught at modeling schools to Rec dept, and now on my own.

.Ger: You have been a Reporter for behind the scenes of some major events and movies

Dawn-Working with Major Production companies we are doing all the behind the scenes of their movies is one of my favorites As I learn so much how they got the part and how they started in showbiz.

I have had over 40 kids and acts appear on the Jenny Jones show carefully selecting new talents i had discovered.

Ger- What do you feel that you have provided to new artists that has helped them to be exposed to the public, and
help them sell their products and cd's.

Dawn--I try to give new talent the winedgeadvantage on my TV Show to provide the opportunity for all ages to be discovered all
Ages, to help sell their CD. And give them the connections They need to sucseed.

Ger - About how many years experience do you have?

Dawn- I have over 35 Years of Real connections from Hollywood CA To Miami to help Talent.

Ger- I heard you have assisted in the career of many new teen artists, and took a few on tour.

A NEW PAGEANT FOR GIRLS AND BOYS 0-18

Ger- I understand you have now started your very own pageant , can you tell me about this?

Dawn- I started a Pageant called Caribbean Tropics International for Kids and Teens, using a refreshing
new approach to the industry to keep kids being Kids, today and a Tropical flair into the Pageant System
